I feel like I should do something wacky in honor of February 29. But I have no idea what. A small brainstorming session last night didn't help, as the good ideas seemed to center on doing something with what hair I have left, either coloring or shaving off. Needless to say, I did neither.
Any suggestions for Leap Day wackiness would be appreciated, if only so I can get a jump on 2012.

We have a consultant working in the office due to a staffing shortage, and she sits in the cubicle right in front of mine. For the most part this isn't an issue; we don't interact more than to say hi, and in fact I'm not even sure of her name (which seems bad, but from past experience the consultants don't get particularly chummy with anyone).
But this morning took an interesting turn, as all of us in the back were serenaded with this album. I'd admit surprise that Hall and Oates had made a Christmas album, but that would indicate I've considered their career since, say, 1990.
And while I'm not as positive about the album as the reviewer, I do think it could have been worse. Still, it wasn't something I was looking to hear, and it leads me to consider what I could play in return. Outside of looping "Christmas in Hollis" or the dogs barking "Jingle Bells" for an hour, I'm open to suggestion.

Time once again to solicit your advice, dear readers. I may even heed it this time around.
The wife and I are planning a week's vacation in March, and at this point we've narrowed it down to "someplace warm." We're mulling options, and I figure I'd open the floor to suggestions.
At this point we're not tied in to one part of the world, though the ones farther away from our current location are less likely given the cost and time spent getting there. The one location that's not on the table is Orlando. We're pretty burnt out with central Florida. Also, anywhere that is likely to be infested with Spring Breakers we'd like to avoid. It's enough that I get to be with college students the other 51 weeks of the year.
We'd also prefer a place with a decent mix of things to do. We're not the type to spend an entire week at the beach, but we're also not looking to spend the entire week on the go, either.
So comment away with your warm weather vacation suggestions!

For those of you willing to help a co-worker out, please check out and rate this video. It was done as some sort of "face of FiOS" promotion that Verizon is doing in Rhode Island. To vote you would have to register, but it appears you could use a dummy address to do so (not that I would advocate that, no siree).
Of course, high ratings for Patrick would be appreciated, as would low-balling those folks who are currently ahead of him.

My 20th high school reunion is coming up, and I'm undecided about attending. It's not so much the mixing with former classmates who I rarely see, but the idea that I'd have to pay $110 to do so. With a cash bar on top of that.
There are other logistical issues, too, but I'm finding myself particularly irritated over the cost, perhaps too much so. But comparing this to reunions past (my own and those of friends and co-workers), I think my umbrage is at least partially understandable.
There are a couple of people who I have not seen in ages that I would really like to catch up with, and that would at least give me some justification for coughing up the dough, but there's no guarantee that they'll be there.
So I open the floor to you, dear reader, and your well-crafted and possibly even offered-while-sober advice.
