As much as I like the idea of Jimi Hendrix spreading some Lenten guidance, this quote isn't original to him. Though who first said it is up for debate, as a brief Google search suggests Gandhi, Sri Chinmoy, or William Gladstone. In any case, let's try to be nicer to each other, preferably while enjoying "All Along the Watchtower."
